This was a day for vehicle inspection. Since that's not exactly the sexiest subject around, here's some Greek graffiti. That's not particularly sexy either and I was startled when someone came to the doorway after I stopped to take the pictures. Apparently someone lives there. I'm not going to write an editorial on that as you can see from the state of the buildings what that means.
I had tried twice on Friday to get the scooter inspected and the story didn't end there or I would have nothing to write now. It was so crowded that they had to re-schedule. Today, all across the Peloponnese the forecast was for rain with the heaviest coming for Sunday afternoon. You have no doubt guessed when the re-scheduled appointment was to take place.
Thinking there was no doubt I was going to get soaked but there was no way out of it, I packed my rainsuit and dutifully headed out to take care of the inspection. Originally the only reason for commentary was that it shows dealing with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles is as much of a nuisance here as in any other country. However, I was impressed by how the inspection was carried out. Don't expect some third-world game just to shake down a few euros as this was thorough and you bet it included an emissions test. I was pleased to see it wasn't just a rubber stamp job and, yes, the scooter passed.
You can see from the pic that it wasn't raining and it did try a little bit but never really delivered and I didn't get wet. It was cold riding but any day without a soaking is a good one!
