More Flooding for Texas - What a Surprise

CNN says 'possibly catastrophic flooding as a result of a tropical storm heading this way' and they project ten or more inches of rain.  (CNN:  'Possibly catastrophic': Texas braces for even more flooding)

The Weather Channel isn't quite so hysterical about it but the forecast isn't that good.  In the next ten days in Fort Worth, they project only two sunny days ... in Texas ... in Summer.  However, the only immediate storms I see are coming into town the way they usually do: from the West.

Here's a radar view of things and likely a more reasonable assessment without CNN hype.  (Chron: Tropical disturbance reaches the Gulf of Mexico, now moving toward Texas)

That projection calls for a landfall somewhere between Corpus Christi which is SW of here and Galveston which is probably SSE.  The latter will be some seriously bad news for Houston but probably not so bad for DFW.  The landing near Corpus Christi means DFW could be blessed by its presence as well, tho.

There's some irony as Texas is home to at least as much climate change denial as the speeches coming from Jim Inhofe's backside, the only part of his anatomy with any idea of its purpose.  These storms were inevitable based on just about any model for climate change that wasn't concocted by the quacks on Fox News.

The not so beauty part for Texas is the Earth hasn't even hit the peak temperature for the last interglacial period so the storms will do nothing but get worse.  Some say man-made changes mean that peak will keep going up but my view of it is based only on what comes from the history and the Earth got much hotter than this at the last peak.

If you think this is bad, you probably won't like the Texas Summers to come very much.
