The expedition yesterday found waves but didn't find the restaurants / cafes I had seen on Google Maps. I set out again today for a bit more scooter improv to see what might be revealed this time. It's not such a peach of a day but any day on two wheels but any day out riding is better than hanging about online.
What I had spotted from Google Maps was a beach near Pyrgos with many umbrellas on the sand. There's not much more to be discerned from the satellite view so the next move is to go out roaming.
And here's the beach:
After growing up near beaches like Bondi and others, these ones really don't impress me much but it's always good to be near the water anyway. On finding a beach, perhaps the first thought is where are the nude ones and they exist in Greece but don't expect Greeks to be too enthusiastic about stripping down in front of Neptune.
Which reminds of a friend of mine who went to Black's Beach, a famous nude beach in (I believe) California. He was bold enough to strip down but that was where the boldness ended and he spent quite some time face-down on a towel. The result of this experience was that his virgin backside got the most ferocious sunburn of his life.
But I digress!
The restaurants turned out to be a disappointment but I photographed them anyway.
It's possible this one is just waiting to get deeper into Spring before doing the clean-up and getting started.
Unfortunately, it's going to take more than Spring cleaning to bring this one back to life:
It's tough to tell what happened here as I expect if a storm did it then it would have taken out the other one, right across the street, as well.
So it seems that Google Maps is way out of date but they're busy bringing us the satellite views of the Moon and Mars so perhaps they are planning for tourists of the future. We shall see.
I had to find Cat something interesting and here it is!
I'd say it's interesting but what the hell is it! It looks like it has become a lawn that someone hopes to take to sea. The yellow and red sign on the front of it says SALE so give it your best guess as to what it is selling!
Yes, I know this one goes to the News of the Strange Department but I do think it's novel!

Listing real estate is part of the plan for the Katakolon News site. I can tell you for sure there is real estate all over the place and there is much talk of the economy crashing altogether. I also know that Germans, among others, are buying up a lot of it.
