"The Darkness" (poem)

The only reason I'm alive
is I don't want to die
There are some questions
but I don't care why.

There is no call
in any new day
as there isn't a doubt
it will turn the same way

Revel in the darkness
it's the only thing that's real
It will come anyway
It doesn't matter what you feel

You can do the best you can
and sometimes it goes well
but still in the end
you're going to go to hell.

You celebrate the joy
of bringing your love home
but still in the end
you will wind up alone
