iMac Graphics Update 10.10.3
Specifically addresses late-2013 iMacs and the symptom is a crash from viewing large JPEG images.
OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Supplemental Update 10.10.3
The OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Supplemental Update fixes a video driver issue that may prevent your Mac from starting up when running apps that capture video.
Both of those are pretty close to direct hits.
There are other updates of less significance, one of which is for security issues in Safari.
That was a weighty decision and now it's done. Any type of update is suspect for the moment. The first test must proceed as intended. Show me you can run until the morning and then I will more amenable to believing the system is stable. Introducing any change at this time is not appropriate.
If there is a failure then apply the update and repeat the test to see if it gets resolved. Assuming no failure then application of the maintenance poses a different problem. It was broken maintenance that got me into this so I have to be rock-solid confident this will do no damage. I believe the decision will to go forward with the maintenance as it's all Apple code so it stays strictly within the Yosemite environment without any third-party influence. Meanwhile, off to get some sleep.
Have a good night, computer ... if you can (larfs).
