Julie confirmed the reading yesterday so this gig is officially on and it will take place via Second Life Voice. She suggested to maybe try playing the guitar at the same time and picking up the signal via the microphone for speaking as this would get it through to Second Life without an audio stream. I will probably try experimenting with this but my expectations are not high as Second Life Voice is more brainless than the average politician and the result could be exceptionally poor sound.
The poetry will, for the most part, come from "Lunagrams" as that's a peach of a way to pimp the book but that's not why I'm doing it. The book only works on an iPad and there are zillions of them around but it's a very large book due to the videos. Selling it would probably work a whole lot better if I were to rework it as a standard EPUB that can be pushed out anywhere. I suppose there is time to do that between now and the reading and I may. It would cost $20 - $30 US for an ISBN and perhaps it would be worth it.
The gig will probably get griefed, tho (laughs). There are idiots who think they are so clever in taking down a sim (i.e. a Second Life region) but any schoolboy can do it. There are ways to prevent it and I will review that with Julie.

We've installed a security orb at Sanctuary, so hopefully griefing will be a non-issue.
