The Smart Money is on (unintelligible) in F1 in Bahrain Tomorrow

Step right up, ladies and gentlemen.  Place your bets, if you will.

Oh, of course, excuse me.  Yes, this is Formula 1.  Please place your wagers.

Will it be Hamilton who still remains cooler than Vettel even though he won the World Driving Championship last year and may very well do it again.

Is it more fun to see Rosberg win or place when he gets so frustrated and pissed off when he doesn't.  He and Hamilton have the speed as they turn lap times almost to within a thousandth of a second of each other.  Usually it takes twins to come that close.

Side-note:  I believe they were the Adkins brothers who were twins who raced go-karts and they were exceptionally-fast but could not beat each other as their lap times were almost identical.

Where is Ricciardo as we haven't been hearing his name as much as I anticipated and he's the young hotshot.

Does Vettel really have it with Ferrari or was that just a lucky day for him with other cars being off.

Alonso seems to have disappeared altogether.  Leaving Ferrari does not seem to have been such a good idea and it's a shame as he's so damn good.  He's had the win for years on the Bravest F1 Move I Ever Saw for a pass he executed at Monaco where you just don't pass and this move was brave, brilliant, and perfectly-executed.

So, who will it be, ladies and gentlemen.  After giving this a great deal of technical and historical analysis, here in the Rockhouse we will be backing Hamilton.  Why?  Because we like him.

Hamilton is much faster than anyone out there. And if the new chassis set put in yesterday to change the tire wear is the right one Then Vettel wont be able to win using tire strategy
Hamilton has gotten into Rosbergs head so count him out unless Vettel tries a Bonzai move to turn one in an attempt to get out in front of Hamilton and takes them both out.
Alonso and Riccardo are bith being beat by Lotus Proving superb drivers in poor cars are still callled backmarkers
I am hoping for Vettel Hamilton duel all year even if F1 gives special dispensation to the prancing horse to make it happen Of course that would never happen or at least not admitted

It's a drag when someone runs away with it as that just gets boring. Everybody loves Schumacher and Vettel but it's not exciting to know before the race starts they will probably win.

I imagine you're right about planting a headworm in Rosberg, not that Hamilton did it but it's there. Those are lost brain cycles that will cost him lap time maybe.

For my taste, Alonso is the picture of Formula 1. Calling that guy a back marker is such a back marker thing to say!

If you run in the back you are a backmarker. Scuderia can win if they continue to use the correct tire strategy Like today one Ferrari pits early to force Mercedes to answer leaving the other to use tire wear to their advantage.
Hamiltons season to lose but Ferrari has an option to make it interesting
Good to see Kimi up front again
Oh yeah what does Nico say this time

Strategy is NASCAR to me and that's not to trivialize it but things are different when it's the most bad-ass brute force you can shake out for five hundred miles. F1 qualifies as a race at 189 miles but I don't know the longest. I don't think any go near NASCAR distance but not positive.

So I think it changes the perspective on F1 to focus more and more to strategy when, to me, the point of F1 is absolute highest performance. Seems to me, one flies against the other.

Strategy is everything in F1 With fuel flow limits mandatory tire compound usage etc. Gone are the days of balls out driving from flag to flag. And now using a safety car. Jimmy Clark is crying.
F1 should be no holds barred best car best driver best team No interference in building No interference in racing Nikki Lauda came to fame because he could set up a car better than anyone else then manage it to a win

F1 hasnt been pure performance in years Only allowed to use DRS if you are within one second track of the car in front Similar to Indy car push to pass button.
Nascar is spec cars but unlimited fuel unlimited tires but is still manipulated by use of tje caution flag

I love that about Jimmy Clark crying!

Nikki Lauda is King Bad-Ass for Life after his crash as I still clearly remember Bandini. To come back from something like that breaks all limits of dudeness.

The all-out in F1 has always been the standard for me and I guess what they do now is what people want but balls out driving is what I'd rather be seeing. This win is absolutely because this one is the best driver / car and not because the team had a bad pit strategy.
