Parnellio and Lefty Make it Happen at Cat's Art MusikCircus

Parnellio's show on Monday can't be passed by.  The cat was on fire with that guitar and singing each song like he may never sing another.  He ripped from start to finish.  Well, I can't say about the start as I got there late but Cat said was rippin' right from the first song.

He brings huge passion to his play and it makes excitement all around.  Sure you can get excitement from firecrackers but Parnellio is so much more.  There's a vibe he builds as he plays and it draws people into it.  He doesn't do anything tricky as he's not using loopers or any other devices but he doesn't need tricky.  It's all Parnellio and he sounds grand.

Lefty Unplugged brings a similar passion but he does it in a style I still really can't put into any kind of a box.  He's a brilliant lyricist as his poetry has surprising nuances at every turn and shows extraordinary subtlety in observation.  His vocals are unique in his own Lefty way and are extremely expressive and his guitar technique is not the unrestrained passion Parnellio shows but that doesn't mean a lack of skill.  Lefty's style is more toward stylizing his play and he has extraordinary guitar skills.  He can still fire all of his guns at once when he likes as in "Blacker Than" and a number of others.

The night was a perfect combination of musicians as Parnellio and Lefty complemented each other beautifully.

And Cat and I danced

That's Lefty in the background looking like Joe Satriani.

Note:  he never ever pretends to be Joe Satriani
