Norway Will Eliminate FM Radio in 2017 in Favor of Digital Radio

FM radio is largely eliminated already in Norway as 56% of the Norwegians listen to music via digital channels rather than broadcast FM.  (Gizmodo: Norway Will Be the First Country to Turn Off FM Radio in 2017)

Aiming to become a big deal Internet radio station is a bit ambitious but it's not terribly difficult as your system doesn't have to be all that strong.  All it needs to accomplish is play some iTunes playlist and stream it out to your Internet radio URL.  Where it gets the huge audience is through the server to which you send the signal as that's the resource that will support up to a thousand listeners for a basic streaming account up to as many as you like if you have the big bucks.

The point is that I could do it from here without any additional equipment.  Setting up a radio station is not a difficult thing and may be an exceptional promotional value.  Perhaps you set up a playlist with your cool new tunes you have just released on your Greatest CD Ever Recorded.  Set that to loop and play it on your Internet radio station while you are doing other things.

Some people use idle time with their computers to support SETI (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence) ... and in some way you do the same thing with your Internet radio station.  After all, look at the things Bobby Jindal says.  To find intelligence, you will need to go extra-terrestrial for sure.  Maybe E.T. will like your music.  Good luck.
