Testing iMac with Yosemite 10.10.3 One More Time

The new used and recently-deceased iMac is powered-up now and connected to Internet via WiFi.  For the test it has to be sleeping as it seemed walking away from it for long enough for the screen to go dark was enough to crash it.  Need to verify that estimation is accurate and for that reason my accounts can't respond to anything.  They will seem live and online but they're not.

The news will be mixed if it doesn't crash as no question of crashes previously.  Therefore, the previous crashes must have something to do with the peripherals.

It's premature to play any guessing games.  It crashes or it doesn't and I observe.

Cat, I'm sorry I'm unavailable but this has to be solved.  I'm mixed on whether there is value in taking it to the Apple Store and I need further diagnostics.  I am sorry but it's the only way to get the music and video happening again.  The problem to solve is whether a hardware problem exists.  If yes then definitely take it to the Apple Store.  Otherwise it would only waste money.  It costs $30 an hour to call them and this approach costs nothing.

I need it to get to the point of a dark screen sleep as that will give decisive information.  Meanwhile it mustn't respond to anything and that may look like some silly online game but it's definitely not.  In test, the iMac has no serious audio and is really just a screen with its screensaver images.  I'm sorry for the downtime but there is value in it toward getting the music fixed.
