The first test was whether the new used iMac would crash after going into a dark screen sleep. For this test, there are no peripherals connected to the iMac other than a Bluetooth keyboard and a Bluetooth trackpad.
We got negative crash corroboration on that one as I was surprised it didn't dive so I left it to go back to sleep. Again there was no trouble awakening it.
That evidence is good to show the base system (i.e. without external disk drives, etc) may be alright. A longer test is required to fully validate that but I'm ok with pushing forward until a crash does manifest itself.
The new used iMac is now set up with external audio to drive the mixer via USB and there is a hard-wire connection for Internet rather than WiFi. Other than that, no changes were made and now the test starts again.
Tornadoes approach from WSW and look to arrive about 1930 Texas Time. They have elevated the threat to moderate and I've seen enough funnel clouds in Cincinnati to know it's real so there's a live radar to track it.
Everything will be shutdown prior to 1930 as it's an angry storm and will definitely make some big bangs. That shutdown does not mean a tornado has been sighted nor that I have been smashed into little bits as my purpose is to save the electronics.
If a tornado really does touch down then the electronics will have to fend for themselves and I'll head for the bathtub with the Galaxy Guitar. That's not a joke as the bathtub is a good heavy place to hide when there is no basement. Pull something over yourself for cover as things can fly around even if the house doesn't get hit directly. Stay cool. Don't get dead.
Fark! Unbelievable timing as it sounds like the warriors have returned from their mission and peace returns after weeks of something too unusual to describe. My thinking was the warriors have no defense against tornadoes even though they are pretty good with orks. Rolling about on the highway where there are tornadoes about is some scary stuff as you don't know if it's safer to continue or stop. Do avoid this circumstance as I promise ... you won't like it. As above. Don't get dead.
