Shaq Shows Why the NBA Does Not Teach Astronomy

Shaq, old man, what is this astronomical gimcrackery from someone who was really good at doing something with basketball although I do confess I have no idea what it was.  It involved bouncing balls, I'm guessing.

Shaq learned from his study of bouncing balls the Earth is flat since otherwise the balls wouldn't bounce right.  It's like asking Sean Spicer about military budgets and he talks about space aliens; he just doesn't bounce right.

Retired American basketball superstar Shaquille O’Neal revealed his belief about the shape of the planet Earth speaking during a show on an internet radio station.

“It’s true. The Earth is flat. The Earth is flat. Yes, it is,” he said speaking at podbay.fm show.

The 45-year-old has referred to his traveling experience when explaining the belief.

“I drive from coast to coast, and this shit is flat to me. I’m just saying. I drive from Florida to California all the time, and it’s flat to me. I do not go up and down at a 360-degree angle.”

Holy shit, Shaq.  Morgan Freeman needs to find you so he can talk with you about the future of the Universe.

I love that 360-degree angle and where can I find one of those, mate?

Someone will take this seriously after failing to give the man credit for a sense of humor.  Is it so tough to believe he's just fuckin' with you.

Shaq got home and told them how it went and said, "Man, I told them I believe the Earth is flat and, you know, they bought it.  That snowball interviewer was just dying to ask me ... do all black people think the Earth is flat."

The reason the interviewer asked is there are several NBA stars that commented on their belief the world is flat

It really wouldn't surprise me if they're trying to play it to see how far it goes. Maybe they can even run it up to some kind of group of NBA Stars for a Flat Earth. It would be a riot for them since they would probably get gigs in which people want to talk about it.
