When Nothing Real is in the News, SpaceX is All the More a Treat

Washington is giving us nothing more than endless reruns of the "All My Children" soap opera and they don't even have an Erica Kane to make it interesting.  It's only moments before those throttlebottoms start throwing at us how much voters have caused them emotional pain.

We want reasons to believe in the future and we want a large helping of excitement about it.  SpaceX gives us both.

I'm not really sure where the video was shot but you will hear in the background the SpaceX staff going absolutely nuts.  At the end of it there's a segment from Elon Musk and he was so pleased he could hardly contain himself.  And quite rightly too after this was a truly evolutionary flight.  There hasn't been a time in man's history of spaceflight when that first stage booster could be recovered and successfully reused but Elon Musk did it.

Some talk has come up on the savings which will come from this but think ten or twenty million dollars in savings per launch.  SpaceX truly did change spaceflight today and it's a blazing inspiration to behold.  Nowhere else knows how to do this.

Regrettably, the brief segment with the actual landing was borked in this video and also three others I reviewed.  Unlike with Washington, we don't need to see it to know it's true that Elon Musk has taken the title.  Delos D. Harriman was the Man Who Owned the Moon but Elon Musk has done him much better and he will own Mars.  If there's anyone on the planet who can do it, he's the one.

Elon Musk has also picked up the title for Coolest Person in the World.  There was some competition with Richard Branson but Branson started trying to chisel into NHS in England to get a piece of the health system so he's permanently over.

Elon Musk, as all experts agree, is the Coolest Person in the World.
