Relax, It Won't Get as Bad as Bush Left It

The projection of the worst potential results of the stock market readjustment is it winds up at 10,000 (not from me but from someone who seems to know the material).

OK, historians out there, what was the stock market showing at the end of the Bush administration.

Ding, ding, ding ... right about 8,000.

You can't buy comedy like this.  Jeb Bush is prancing around, muttering, "I'm credible.  I'm not like my brother.  I'm credible."

However, generally the Middle Bush policies are agreeable to his chubby little brother so, if the current market readjustment is not dramatic enough for you, hire Jeb Bush with his family history to show he can make any bad economic situation worse.

Note:  Former Bush, Middle Bush, Latter Bush - the dynasty (shrug)

In some ways I want America to do it so Latter Bush can finally run the GOP into the ground and the economy really does collapse from trickle down by low taxation on the rich.

There.  Satisfied now that it does NOT fucking work.

Preferably, there will be a more rational approach to it.

So, from what you know of America, what's your bet as to whether that can happen.  Keep in mind that Americans don't give a fuck about the principles, they only want to be on the side of the winner.  If that's not true, how did hippies turn into Republicans.

(Ed:  hippies are shit?)

I don't see any left so, no, hippies are not shit.  What they became isn't worth a shit but that's not quite the same thing.

The world hasn't known what it was doing since World War II.  Ever since then engineers have been making one ridiculous toy after the other, the sum of which hasn't amounted to anything more than a shitload more LEDs than the world really needed and, guess what, wanna know what Pluto looks like?

You all are in some serious need of direction and you don't have it now.  There are only three general directives in which one should 1) make lots of money, 2) wipe out Communists, 3) wipe out Muslims.  Regrettably, none of these directives, whether misguided or no, goes anywhere.  They are not directions but wants and show me nothing more than a complete lack of ambition.

There's no resolve to, say, find all the hungry kids and feed those little fuckers.  So there's your direction, you want to make the planet more hospitable to life.  People may not agree with it as, oh, it costs too much but it's a direction nevertheless.  Whether that or any other direction, humanity could use one as there's a global malaise from the hopelessness of endless combat.  Aggression doesn't fix that, it only makes it worse.

Here at the Rockhouse / Ministry of the Internet / Spaceship from Another World, we strongly believe were such a direction to become a real mission for people that concerns about costs would diminish rapidly on sight of what comes from those costs.

We have hope.  The trouble is hardly anyone else does.

So, get some of that.  It's not so far out of reach as you think.  I am completely fucked beyond my willingness to tell you but I have hope people will get their shit together and fix the problems.  That won't make any difference for me but I'd like to believe for my own satisfaction people will do that for their children if not for themselves and I don't see it happening.

Sanders remains the only answer.  Warren tanked with this idea of Biden using her as his straight man for VP.  They will lose together and she will ruin her chance of ever being President.  I will absolutely lose all respect for her if she gets political like that.

Warren's vision means nothing if she doesn't stand up to defend it.  She's making a huge mistake in failing to connect with Sanders as he's a recognized voice of truth.  People may not like what he says but way above the others he has credibility.  Biden isn't in the play as he's not particularly strong on anything.  He can only weaken the position.

Sanders and Warren can flip a coin as to who leads but getting ego into this can kill the best hope the left has had for many years.  There's been a long period of shape-shifting Democrats and that has to evolve or no credible party will remain.  There's not much left of it in true representation now.
