Hotline Test for Reverend Silas T Sasquatch

The object is to enable some capability for live call-in access to Reverend Silas T Sasquatch in his ten-dollar, flat-rate soul saving show.

Skype was brought up on the laptop which is otherwise only used for music streaming when I want to use tracks.

The test showed no problem getting the audio out to the speakers which means it will get recorded via the same path as the microphone for Sasquatch.  Anything Sasquatch says into the headset mike for Skype is not echoed to the speakers and that's good as otherwise it would feedback like you just pulled a cat's tail, assuming you are willing to use a layer of skin to do it.

Therefore, this will work as the Sasquatch mike is on a boom and using the headset won't affect it so what I'm saying will go to Skype and also to the live stream.

The above is why it is critical the caller must not be listening to the live stream to hear whatever is said.  The lag between broadcast time and real time is substantial and it would be incredibly confusing.  Everything has to go through the headphones.  If it does not then it will start an echo loop and I can only drop the call from that.

The number of sometimes difficult steps just to do something funny is ... well ... funny.

The mechanics of this are verified as all the pieces I want are present.   A bit of polish is wanted due to the importance of the Stafford Paradigm which defines the fundamental nature of godliness and is known to racers anywhere:  cleanliness is next to haulin' ass.

The polish is YouTube has displays which can pop up in the video and these will be useful as I will want to throw up the Skype name to use for connecting.  That one is the MOTI number and not me.

Note:  MOTI is not a pun on the Motie from Larry Niven in "The Mote in God's Eye" because it's deliberate, it's respect for the master.

So, more to discover in jacking with these pop-up deals in the video and that should wrap preparation.  There is one deficiency which cannot be corrected as Miss Mona will be on a dry mike.  It may work to jack the built-in effects on the mixer and send only her channel to it so it doesn't affect the Sasquatch mike.  That should be a good (i.e. zero spend) compromise.
