Ronald Reagan, Jefferson Davis, and the Taliban

Russians were taking their last gasps as Soviets during the Russia / Afghanistan conflict which finally stopped in 1989.

During the course of the combat, Reagan via the CIA was cheerfully distributing weapons to the Mujahadeen, including Osama bin Laden.  After the conflict, the Mujahadeen consolidated to become the Taliban and you know what bin Laden did.

Now the American military plus a shitload of American mercs are in Afghanistan killing and wasting all over again but this time they're fighting the Taliban and the estimation of the genius of Ronald Reagan should be dropping faster than a statue for Jefferson Davis for such resounding incompetence.

Note:  the CIA incompetence didn't change since they have never successfully accomplished anything except destruction.  They're good at that, well, some of the time.  Then there's the Bay of Pigs.  Idiots.

Tip:  don't be standing around whining for an Oscar, Ron boy.  You won't be there long enough.

There's a corollary to this one with the way America re-installed the Shah in Iran in 1953 and likely Eisenhower authorized it after the election in 1952.  The recently-created CIA (i.e. authorized by Truman) had to have been part of it and, thus, they set the stage for the subsequent revolution in Iran which overthrew that asslicking pigdog of a Shah and installed the Ayatollah.  Now Trump is going for the trifecta after North Korea and Venezuela by going back into Iran to fuck with it all over again, presumably because of the great success the first time.  The details are different but the overall outcome of the play isn't much different from the stupid shit Reagan did with the Mujahadeen.

Ed:  Reagan brought such success to America

Yah, we can see that when NAZIs hold parades with flaming torches and a cast of thousands.  There's only one other time in history that was called success.  There's only one other time in history when an American President has done so much damage to his own country.  Jefferson Davis is already coming down and Reagan won't be far behind him.

Note:  there are some nibblers for CM since were they really the most destructive or was there some other President even more damaging to America.  I'm not going to make a case either way since partisans in their cleverness simply don't believe it or ignore it.

There's no need for the WIKI citations either since they ignore those as well.  Clinton would be just sputtering bubbles into a hurricane if anyone had read her emails on WikiLeaks.  A substantial percentage of these Yanks are thick like Vegemite on a cold day, mate.

Ed:  then they go to Facebook?

It attracts them like a dirty sink draws pissants.  It's all for the collective illusion ...

catch a buzz
and do fuckin' nothin' all day

- to the tune of "Sidewalk Surfing"

And make no mistake they're wasted.  They're sucking up the vino and chewing their Big Pharma buddies because you will never ever hear of a prescription being denied for a pacification drug (e.g. PROZAC, etc).  Welcome to Facebook.

Note:  pissant is a technical term in Texas which has scarce few technical terms and it means an ant smaller than a fire ant.  It doesn't sting but it does invade the house and they will definitely piss you off.

Zen Yogi:  fire ants won't invade the house?

No, they really don't.  They're more like native Americans and the pissants are like the colonials.

Zen Yogi:  I don't care about fire ants

Easy for you to say with all that fur, buddy ... however ... if a fire ant bites a grizzly on his nose, that grizzly will be crying for his mama.

Ed:  here's a pro tip since you do fuckin' nothin' all day

Au contraire, since I talk shit incessantly but that goes beyond chitter chatter when a whole lot of people read it.  There is no need for any online likey likey since some percentage won't like it but they read it or saw enough of it to decide this guy should die in a fire (which has been suggested).

They need the likey likey on Facebook since, despite two billion online, relatively few will actually see whatever you write.  There is no Die in a Fire button but Facebook never was much good at reality.

Whether there's any real outcome from that which I regard more than I ever intended as my work can't ever be known but I am confident in the Theory of Propagated Goodness insofar as anything good will definitely travel and almost always in unpredictable ways.  If that Theory isn't true then all of this has been only entertainment but otherwise it may have some positive effect.

Lotho mentioned a piece of tranquility in knowing the things one can change but I refuse to believe there's anything which can't be changed if we have the will do it.

The Rockhouse has the will to get cracking on tearing down the statues for Jefferson Davis and Ronald Reagan and, in time, others will come.  America calls itself the country which is of the people, by the people, and for the people.  However, the only part remaining of that is it's the country of the people who do not run it and do not benefit from it.

You fail to mention that Russia started the war when they invaded Afghanistan in 1979 and toppled the existing government. Ronald Regan didn't assume the presidency till over a year later in January, 1981. By this time 34 Islamic countries and the United Nations were demanding Russia withdraw from Afghanistan.

By the end of the war 9 years later over 500,000 civilians and 75,000 Mujahideens were killed by the Russians. Three million Afghani civilians were wounded. Many accounts of mass torture and rape by the Russians were documented. Approximately 15,000 Russian military were killed and 50,000 wounded. Despite outnumbering 3 to 1 the Russians left Afghanistan in defeat and disgrace in 1989. During this time no American forces were involved. America, along with Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Great Britain, West Germany did actively support the Mujahideen.

As to Ronald Regan being the most destructive president for American assistance to the Mujahideen the facts speak differently (see Wikipedia Soviet-Afghan War).

Sorry but extremely slow about it here

Dunno if it really matters why the Russians were there as Reagan thought he would fix the situation but made it infinitely worse. That America had assistance in creating the current travesty in Afghanistan really doesn't make that much difference either.

There are few examples of America interfering in a country and achieving any good outcome any time since WWII.

seems to be that you sidestep CMs points and give the Russians a pass.
Ultimately sending the blame of a Russian invasion onto Reagan.
Seems like you lay blame on the US for every ill of the world no matter who actually caused it.
America is responsible for a great many blunder in the world but not all.
You sound like so many talk radio hosts from either side that refuse to admit errors on the position they promote.
That makes it far harder to listen t
your position when you tefusevto admit your side is ever at fault for any situation.
Russia was cleary wrong in their invasion of Afghanistan just as they were wrong when they rolled in the Czechoslovakia.

Russia invaded Afghanistan and America invaded Afghanistan. America acts like they're on a mission from God and the Russians are the evil flying monkeys. The result in Afghanistan was the CIA was been there continuously and the country has been a state of constant chaos since the Eighties.

If you find a better cause for anything I suggest America did, name it. America does some of those most vile shit on the planet and get ready for bombing Venezuela as those savages get ready to destroy another country.

Chavez destroyed Venezuela. He spent it into oblivion on the dreams of $200/barrel oil
I do believe the entire world thought Russia were evil Monkeys when the went into Czechoslovakia.
Both sides need to own their ills but neither do.

Donald Trump is right now talking of bombing them and you know already where that talk originates since it always comes from the same place. What Venezuela does isn't America's business.
