Unknown if any of you heard it but I appreciated extraordinarily the opportunity to speak freely. You can follow the BBC "World Have Your Say" program on Twitter at BBC_WHYS.
A different topic for the discussion came up in the segment previous to the one about American politics and that revolved around immigration of 'illegals.' After exploiting Africa for centuries use of the term 'illegal' shows an incredible flexibility of language as apparently it's ok to rape the country but there's no responsibility for what comes after it was abandoned when the colonial period came to an end.
The commonality with America on this is the endless bleating from American politicians about Mexican and other Central American 'illegals' coming into America and the same general solution comes in sending them back to their original homes.
What I would like to see happen is more attention from stronger nations in assisting less strong nations in finding economic stability. This doesn't come about by Uncle Sugar acting like Santa Claus but rather through business cooperation rather than exploitation. People don't typically even want to leave their homes but starving children will motivate a family to do whatever is necessary to try to keep them alive.
Ultra-nationalists in most nations are exploiting the situation now as they can go on and on about the damage to the economy from illegals consuming benefits rightfully only due to legal citizens of whichever country. They leave out of that righteousness every time that many of those rich countries achieved that wealth through consuming the resources of the poor ones and then abandoning them.
In any review of world history, you won't find any time when ultra-nationalists brought good things anywhere. We have seen too many times how they behave when they get real power.
Thanks again to the BBC for the opportunity to speak.
