This will mean another Apple Store but I can't refuse it as doing so insults those who gave so much to help me. I have contacted PowerMax to try to return the machine but I doubt that will get a sprightly answer as no-one wants those calls.
Meanwhile I can pursue this with Apple.
Chuck is a good guy and it's not his fault the tools don't reveal the problem. He's been bringing everything to it short of an electron microscope but nothing was consistent enough to provide a proof. I know systems programming backwards and forwards and he's done an excellent and meticulous job. However, no matter how good you are, if the tools don't get it done then ... well ... you know how that goes from a million different things. You need the tools.
Getting run over by cars hurts me but doesn't devastate me and the regulars have seen that happen multiple times.

Well, not at the same time but yes. It's been three definite and maybe a couple of others which were not such a big deal.
This stuff with the computer and the frustration of it, cut off from Cat, no music, video destroyed, blah, blah has been sucking the life right out of me.
This does not for a moment kill any plans of Europe, it just makes them more difficult. As I've always been wont to boringly say, "If it were easy, it wouldn't be a good trick."
