The rocket booster deal I mentioned previously is accurate and real. I may be wrong on the exact number of boosters ordered from Russia but the mechanics of it are accurate.
Someone who really is in the 1% is Elon Musk and he uses U.S. talent to build his launch vehicles for SpaceX. He does all kinds of incredible stuff to push America forward but it's not driven by some shallow nationalism but rather practicality. America has the talent to do what he needs and he has the money to pay for it. Musk brings vision whereas typically the 1% only brings greed in manipulating oil prices, etc. If you're one of the billionaires who does that then consider yourself insulted but I'm guessing you're probably not.
The reason for huge concern about the rocket boosters is my ol' Dad woke up the kids for all of NASA's Mercury launches and I've grown up through my life watching America build the greatest space program in the world.
Yet now even the American aerospace companies which would otherwise be building the vehicles (e.g. Boeing and Lockheed Martin) are buying the boosters from Russia. Start-up commercial launch companies are doing the same thing and that was the order placed the other day. They NAFTA'd fookin' NASA.
The fault is apparently the GOP in they made the cuts but the deeper fault is the divisiveness of a broken system. Everything is binary as it's this or that and there's nothing in-between.
The bigger problem with the divisiveness is that it has stolen the vision as, no, we can't afford that anymore, whatever it is. The basis for the divisiveness is particularly unusual as the loathing for Obama is relentless but the Dow was at 8,000 when he started and it was at 18,000 the last time I liked. Surely your stock portfolios fattened up like Pillsbury Doughboys so I wouldn't expect the GOP to be blowing him kisses but the loathing looks a little weird.
