America Didn't Get Stupid - CNN Did

There's talk everywhere of the 'dumbing down of America' and the news channels are often used as the most obvious example of it.  However, they don't even come close to representing America as their only purpose is to make money.  You won't buy something just because some blondie with big boobs says it's a good idea so they aim for those who might.

This thinking is motivated by the horror of the CNN Web site as it's nothing more than a picture book for children now.  That they could take the ranking news organization in the world and turn it into such a low-level tabloid is one of the great tragedies of journalism.

That the news channels do not represent Americans is shown by 40% of people in the country who describe themselves as political independents due to dissatisfaction with the current platforms of either primary party.  What could scream louder that America is ready for the Green Party.

My purpose is not to argue the merits of a Green Party although I'm sure regular readers know that platform would be my preference.  More important is the number of politically disenfranchised Americans who need something the primary parties are not providing.  The 40% number tells me clearly America did not dumb down as those people see the news channels and they don't believe what is being said and / or will not accept the imbalances.

After what they've done to CNN, it would surprise me if anyone accepts it as truth.  Take a look for yourself to find if I'm exaggerating.  After this, I don't see anything in CNN's future but extinction.
