So Then We Got a Thousand People Together and ...

Usually when we get a thousand people together, we're thinking about a thousand axemen with red Stratocasters to play "Walk Don't Run" at the same time ... but ... the Chinese way is not something which ever came to mind.

Maybe you remember the Moonies since they loved Woodstock weddings like this with a cast of thousands.

On the other hand, I remember some graduate students from Taiwan who went out to get married on their lunch hour and then went back to their work.

Because, wtf, they didn't have much money.  Graduate students hardly ever do.  Being a teaching assistant doesn't help much but you do get to play softball with the professors a lot.  They're starting to like you.

Oh, sure, no trouble explaining this sociological phenomenon.
