Fátima, Portugal
A pilgrim walks on her knees, paying penance at the Fátima sanctuary. Pope Francis will visit the shrine to canonise two children whose visions of the Virgin Mary 100 years ago turned the sleepy farming town into a major Catholic pilgrimage site.

Mates, I see this woman and I've got to ask, "What did you do that was so fucking horrible that you think this will make amends for it?"
The regulars have seen I have general respect for the Vatican but, holy shit, look at the crazy stuff the faithful do.
Pope Francis: I didn't ask them to do this
I know that, Fadda, but where do they get the idea to do this wacky stuff?
Pope Francis: maybe it comes from America and there's something in the water
There's lead in the water, Holy Fadda.
Pope Francis: lead makes you crazy and enough of it will kill you
These aren't Americans, Fadda.
Pope Francis: well, scratch that theory. They're just crazy then.
Bless you, Holy Fadda.
Pope Francis: you know I would, Silas, but you also know I have tried before
It's all good, Pops. Maybe crazy woman up there needs your attention or at least some lint. She's goin' hurt.
