Boeing is one of the finest examples of the New Millennium New Deal as the government boosts the economy by boosting defense contractors rather than building things anyone can actually use as in the original New Deal.

People have speculated on what the space plane was doing for 674 days but there's nothing much as one of Breitbart's Bozos offered 'it was looking for more golf courses for Obama.' This goes some distance toward explaining why conservative comedians are rare although it would probably play on "The Tonight Show."
My own initial thought is that it does nothing because it's the perfect military project; it costs big bucks and doesn't do one damn thing. The F-35 is kind of a toad in the military appropriations as that thing has been a joke ... that is periodically deadly to its pilot. It's such an obvious clusterfuck that it embarrasses the Pentagon and those pretty boys don't like being embarrassed. However, the X-37B doesn't even have a pilot.
There was some thought it is some kind of space bomber and that must have come from a conservative as well. Using a space vehicle traveling at 18,000 mph as a ground assault mechanism isn't much different from trying to use the Queen Elizabeth as a patrol boat in a naval battle.
Sasquatch was going to do a bit on the space plane but that just winds out into honking on military appropriations and that can be funny but it's been out of control for so long that most of the comedy blood was squeezed out of it years ago.
