Lefty and Untolerable Play Their Own Way at Cat's Art MusikCircus

Lefty Unplugged returned last night with his incredible magic to play at Cat's Art MusikCircus.

Lefty Unplugged may well be the most gifted poet I've heard in Second Life.  I don't like reviewing things in terms of who is the best so let it stand that he has an extraordinary talent for writing.  On top of his ability with verse, Lefty has a great talent and long experience with putting the words to music but it's not simply A-B-A-B-C-B-A formulaic song structuring as he will take a song anywhere it needs to go and play it for as long as it needs to be played.

Last night Lefty played his first two songs and it was about twenty-three minutes into the set when he finished them.  He has a tendency toward self-deprecation and it was a bit sad to hear him say after the songs that he thought he had been milking them.  From out in the audience, I didn't hear anything being 'milked' at all but rather the songs took us on a journey with beautiful hills and valleys in their dynamics and their stories.

Lefty is a great storyteller and I'm not sure what yielded the segue to The Cow Story about fishing, smoking ganja, and cows.  The moral of the story wasn't entirely clear but it does seem you would be well-advised if you are fishing when you're stoned and a cow comes to see you, it is probably best to share.

(Ed:  You're not going to tell the story?)

Of course not.  It's Lefty's story!  If you want to hear it then come to his show!

The Artist Profile for Lefty Unplugged has been expanded to include a YouTube Playlist to feature his songs as Lefty Unplugged in Second Life and Kevin Farrell in his real-world performances.  The videos will tell you more than can my words about Lefty Unplugged at Cat's Art MusikCircus.

Untolerable Bohemian stepped up to perform after Lefty's show.

Untolerable Bohemian has a most unusual style and lately he has favored doing cover songs and using what I've been calling The Bo Beat that swings the beat so far he can bounce it off a wall.  The result is that he can play covers that would ordinarily run me out of the room (e.g. Pink Floyd) but The Bo Beat gives them life.

Untolerable is a Portuguese singer and guitarist and he has even roamed up to England in his search for the musical combination that will fulfill him.  He is back in Portugal now but his search didn't stop and he's young enough to keep it going for as long as he needs.  What will drive him the most is that he will try anything and that spirit will keep his music alive forever.

Something else that's unusual in his style is that he doesn't play at all like he did a couple of years ago.  Where previously he was playing electric originals with back tracks he is now doing mostly covers and accompanying himself on an acoustic guitar.  I asked him about it after the show but I wasn't really clear on why the change as Portuguese is yet another language that my woefully-inadequate education failed to include.  However, you can hear his different styles in the YouTube Playlist I have made of some of his work.

An Artist Profile has been created for Untolerable Bohemian with a YouTube Playlist to feature his songs.  The videos will tell you more than can my words about Untolerable Bohemian at Cat's Art MusikCircus.

And of course Cat and I danced!

There's nowhere I would rather be unless I'm playing for her!
