"I Know" is an original song by Paris Obscur and the hook has been running through my head ever since his show on Wednesday. You have been warned - The hook is immense!
As with most or all of Paris Obscur's songs, this one is more than likely true and it is written from the standpoint of a woman whose husband is running around but what she has discovered is he is running around with other men. I don't know but I imagine the woman is a friend of his and he wrote it to help her come to grips with the situation. As with everything else he writes there is no judgment but rather it's an observation of the extremes in human nature.
I don't understand being gay very well but the gay people I have known had no interest in effeminacy. They preferred the company and sexuality of men but only one wore a dress and he was getting ready for a sex-change operation. This would be trivial information except in the context of the song as the man in it is trying to imitate the femininity of his wife so I see a greater level of complexity to the story than what is apparent in his preference for men rather than his wife.

I know all that you want
I just don't listen
I know all that you want
I just don't listen
I know the things you do
And I don't pretend
To be happy with you
When you're close to him
I know the things you have
In mind when you go
Alone in the evening
Makes me want to scream
When I'm all yours at night
And you don't touch me
When I show you my breast
And you don't watch me
I know all that you want
I just don't listen
I know all that you want
It just isn't me
When I'm made up for you
You don't seem to care
All the others watch me
But you ignore me
I know all that you want
I just don't listen
I know all that you want
It just isn't me
As a woman I don't
Seem to interest you
All the others watch me
But you ignore me
I know all that you want
I just don't listen
I know all that you want
It's men you prefer
I know all that you want
I just don't listen
I know all that you want
I just don't listen
So you think that i've never seen you trying my clothes
So you think that i've never seen you trying my make up
With my heels
With my lipstick
Trying to walk like me
Trying to smile like me
Trying to smoke like me
Trying to laugh like me
Trying to be yourself
Trying to be yourself
Trying to be yourself
Trying to be yourself
I know all that you want
I just don't listen
I know all that you want
It's men you prefer
I know all that you want
I just don't listen
I know all that you want
It's men you prefer
