A little spotted kiwi is held before release at Shakespear open sanctuary in Auckland. Twenty single little spotted kiwis were set free into the fenced 500-hectare wildlife sanctuary where they will hopefully find mates. The little spotted kiwi is the smallest and second-rarest of kiwi species in New Zealand.
