What's Not Hot on 6/5 ... But Worthy of Your Time

There are some of the best ones of the day in the What's Hot list but it's not even close to all of them and a good many never get past the Brain Police to get out to Twitter / Facebook where anyone will even hear of them.  The solution for that is to open Ithaka with http://searchingforithaka.blogspot.com and then scroll through whatever you find.  The What's Hot will usually tend to the more mainstream view of things but Ithaka goes well beyond that.

Today I confirmed again the insularity of Facebook since they may respond to anything I add within Facebook but it's extremely unlikely they will leave their illusionary security blanket to look outside. As always, things go into Facebook but they rarely come back out.

The Obscenity and Hypocrisy of the N-Word - goes straight up to the obscenity of this word and how to deal with it if you really want to eliminate the vile obscenities behind it.

"Beacons of Light" #Poetry - although a poem can gain some artificial melodrama in dealing with pestilence and death, that's irrelevant when melodrama is of no purpose (i.e. most of the time)

"Fuck that Good Night" #Poetry - the Rockhouse has no respect for Thomas' poem since he wrote it for his father but didn't live it and continued drinking himself into a box; he never raged at all although Hollywood didn't mind transmogrifying the poem for jingoistic effect (e.g. "Independence Day")

My purpose isn't simply to hype my poems but rather it's to offer the fact there's a great deal people miss and some they might not have an awareness because the Brain Police intercepted the notification.

Yah, the Brain Police wanted money since of course you can bribe them.

Almost invariably, if you only follow the mainstream, you will miss a great deal of the most fascinating parts of life.

You did put Ithaka quite close to 900,000 today and that should pop tomorrow unless I get lazy and, yes, that's a euphemism.
