The Man in the Stone

This is a stone formation many miles from anywhere in the Southwest of the United States and it was sent to me by Kim of the Desert Moon, a friend of mine.  The sculpture couldn't possibly be naturally-formed as there is no chance moving water or wind could have carved the deep-set eyes without taking off the figure's headgear.  Besides, how is it that this part of the rock was sculpted and yet nothing around it appears to have taken any particular shape at all.

No-one knows how or when this sculpture was created.  The figure is not an American Indian as they have very little facial hair and this man has a beard or at least a goatee.  He looks very much like he is a Spaniard but there is no reason anyone would want to immortalise the way they desecrated the Indian tribes of South America, Mexico and the Southwest.  With their savagery coming from the South and the Anglo-Euro savagery coming from the North, the Indians never stood a chance.

So, you tell me what did it!  But don't look for thoughts from Facebook as what they liked the most for what I've done recently was a picture of a cow riding a motorcycle:

I wanted to see if this elicited more interest than my videos.  It did.
