Cats ... Not Only for Destroying Property Value Anymore

The best way to destroy the value of a house is to bring a cat into it.  Smoking is also the best way but it's a tie for number one as there's no way to get out the smell from either one.  You can replace the floorboards, the carpet, and repaint the place but it still won't completely remove the smell.

But that's not the best part.

There's a parasite called toxoplasma and you get it from cats, particularly from contact with a litter box.

Here's the beauty part:

it's incurable.

And the even more beauty part:

Medical researchers aren't really sure what it does but it's not seeming like it's anything good.  (IndyStar:  Is your cat messing with your mind?)

I've cleaned up after a lot of cats in my life and this is a large reason I loathe seeing them indoors but I had not considered this toxoplasma business particularly.  Now it seems to demonstrate the ability to make psychoactive changes (e.g. infected mice stop being afraid of cats, etc).  There's a bit of spooky for your morning coffee.
