There are half-baked definitions of socialism from political hacks but the intro to this song will tell you what it really means and it's not even close to political.
To my taste, this is the best bit REO Speedwagon ever did and the story of it is part of the reason for Europe as I will ride the storm out exactly where it will go if Obama keeps up his girly games with Ukraine.

I met the lead singer Kevin Cronin back in the early 80's on Molokai (Hawaii). I was working at the Sheraton Molokai and heard REO's lead singer was in one of the cottages by the beach and he wanted to party with the locals. I was working as a bellman at the time and went to his room still in uniform with Tony Spearman. He was really nice and down to earth. He had a huge bag of weed and was rolling joints and passing out beers. He asks us if we'd like to hear a song he just wrote and proceeded to pull out an acoustic guitar and start singing. He was pounding the guitar and singing at the top of his lungs, it was really loud! I started freaking out as the hotel's rules were that employees weren't allowed to remain on property, especially in uniform, when we weren't working. I was sure security was going to come by and check it out and see me partying in the hotel and I'd lose my job. As it turns out, nobody came by and nothing of the sort happened. But Kevin was a great guy and we had a good time late into the evening. Seemed a bit odd to me as I was and still am only a so so fan of REO, but still a good memory.
Outstanding story! I wasn't a huge fan of the band either but they got it right with this one.
That must have been one insane night for you and cool that Tony was there as well. I hope he's still enjoying it out there also.
