The problem with the Duck was that when it didn't like the screen size of your browser, it's bits would move about, feathers would fly all over ... very bad.
So that's fixed and this came from my niece's site as that gave me an idea for how to do various things better. This isn't the start of a new soup recipe but rather an intermediate tinker.
The focus is on getting new material onto the Valerie Fraser, Artist site as a number of additional pieces arrived last night and about half of them are online now.
One consideration is to put the name of the piece on the slideshow page. As it stands I don't have the information but I do have the filename so I could look it up ... but ... is it worth doing. I don't even like having the little arrows on that page but I figured I had to give people some clue how to work it. The object is to present the piece in as close to an exhibition viewing space as possible so getting any possible clutter off the screen is a very big part of it to me ... unless there's a reason. So, I can do it but your call as it whether I should. I'd do it 10px for quite small text and put it way up in the corner.
All of the artworks are sequenced by year and you can see something of an evolution in that. Obviously the art evolves but going to paper means what, art students? Yep, she ran out of money. I don't know this but it looks like a cash flow problem to me so I'm thinking, man, we have got to sell some product and get this lady some paint and stuffs. More accurately, we will help her get it herself.
She likes to call things 'stuffs.' I'm not sure why but it works just fine. She needs more stuffs.
Musicians bitch about buying strings but paint artists need more paint constantly, canvas by the roll, stretchers for the canvas, and more brushes, always more brushes. They don't need clothes so much as they usually clean their brushes on the same ones. I think that's an artist thing as you have to get your paint shorts looking like Van Gogh did them.
If you feel me practically chaining myself to the chair to prevent running off and setting a pile of CafePress products then you are getting the full vibe. If I knew I had built that up and that was supplying some grease for more paints and gets her painting more. Fark! Diese ist stolzer Onkel stuffs! (This is proud uncle stuffs)
Lotho kann nicht der stolzer Onkel sein als er ist der stolzer Vater (lacht)
Lotho, there's some minor sticky in setting up a CafePress account as that has to be coordinated so payout goes to her but I can add products to it. I very much doubt she wants to tangle with the hassles of setting it up herself but more Dad / Daughter stuff needed to get the idea how to go. For example, the images needed for CafePress have to be high-res and I've got them. Putting them on t-shirts, etc is a snap ... I just need the Go code to start building or, at a minimum, researching.
The Inventory of Works page did not change to the Ministry of Funny Walks although it was very tempting to do it. Portfolio says it much better and translates well to German in which it is, well, also Portfolio.
Update: I stripped out some stuff about writing more sites but better to keep focus on what I do now.
