Maybe you remember when part of the pitch was The Ventures play Mosrite guitars exclusively. That added a bit of mysticism since probably most boys didn't know much about Mosrite and The Ventures inspired a whole generation of young boys to play. I was one of them and I still haven't run into a Mosrite guitar but it's damn cool to see The Ventures gigging proudly. You can see and hear they're not desperately hanging onto something as they play and they make it look effortless.
