July the Fourth is America's Obedience Day when Washington shows off the military gimcrackery they bought instead of health care for Americans and tries to tell you it was a good deal. It's just another governmental shit show which has nothing whatever to do with freedom. Moreover, the Fourth of July ensures the lack of freedom by demanding subservience to the flag and to the military, the latter of which hasn't served any kind of positive cause since WWII.
That wasn't the fault of the soldiers since they did what they were ordered to do but the modern generals are profoundly damaged.
You have seen how Colin Kaepernick was reviled because he did not show suitable subservience before the flag. He's a football player and what difference does it make what he does but that became yet another bullshit MSM game show in which they sought to trash him and destroy his career.
Obedience, it's patriotic and it's associated with football for some reason which makes no sense.
There are others who refuse to be obedient and at great risk to their lives so they can bring you truth. Edward Snowden, Chelsea Manning, Julian Assange, and multiple others have made this choice and, what do you know, vilification isn't enough. America wants to kill these ones.
Obedience is more important than truth.
I was freely sleeping a relatively short time ago but was awakened by fireworks which were presumably in celebration of the Fourth of July. Naturally, since it's Texas, they got the wrong day.
Obedience, at least get the right day.
As we saw at Kent State, they will kill us or anyone they like due to their obedience. Note: Chrissie Hynde's boyfriend was one of those who died at Kent State. Like the others, he was unarmed.
Obedience, because then you can kill people who have no guns and get away with it.
The Rockhouse has paid the dues for the military but we won't go to any parades and we couldn't be bothered with their fireworks. The modern Fourth of July doesn't have much to do with those who died for America but rather it's for justifying the obscene way the military is deployed today and the vile purposes they're serving. We will have no part of it since we already know what they're doing and America has no chance of real freedom if it doesn't stop.

Actually the signing of the Declaration of Independence which the Fourth of July celebrates was an extreme act of disobedience. This holiday symbolizes the right of the people to overthrow governments that become intolerable. The signers became immediately traitors in the eyes of loyalists, who along with the British military continued to rule in much of the colonies. The American Revolution established the rights of the people to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. It was so successful that other countries disobediently overthrew their rulers: France, Russia, Spain, for example.
The founding fathers were extreme liberals of their time who espoused radical change. The conservatives of their time (about a third of the population) pledged obedience to the British. After all, American was a British colony whose government, laws and society were based around loyalty to the king. The fact that today America has evolved into a society that is currently apethetic does not negate the right of American citizens to overthrow an oppressive government. They did over 240 years ago. Those of us who lived through the 1960's and 70's saw evidence of how the American people react when they feel their government is oppressive. While the government was not overthrown there were radical changes that occurred. So, today we celebrate the courage of our founders to be disobedient, radical and liberal in thought and action. Thomas Jefferson and John Adams both died within hours of one another 50 years later on July 4, 1826, They both agreed that while not perfect the country had made gains towards the dream of all citizens enjoying life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Today as then a liberal, radical dream. Happy Fourth of July my good friend Silas. UH!
To their vision of the Fourth of July, I'm right there with it and I love watching "The Patriot" every so often because Mel Gibson really kicked ass in that one and a whole lot of Tories got whacked.
Since that time, people got mixed-up on who the Tories are so now they're in Washington waving flags. No thanks.
I'll be more than happy to share that liberal, radical dream the Forefathers had and Happy Fourth of July to you, my good friend. Uh!
