There will be a full report on PowerMax on delivery.  Configuring the exact same machine at the Apple Store comes to $2759 while the used one is $2214 (with an add-on warranty for $70).  When I say 'exact' at the Apple Store, I mean precisely.  Well, there is one variable in that it does not have the Apple warranty.  However, the six-month warranty is satisfactory.  While you can open a Mac laptop with a screwdriver, you need a case cracker for an iMac and that means it's highly unlikely anyone has been inside it.

You may think the internal drive is small at 500 GB but I don't want much stuff on the system disk.  All data for video, music, etc is on an external disk so it doesn't make a lot of aggravation when the system is replaced underneath it.  For example, bringing all my songs and video over to the new used computer is only a matter of plugging a Thunderbolt adaptor cable into the disk.  Complete.

While this system is not running OS X Yosemite, it is not possible to stay at that level because my application software is already upgraded.  Therefore, I will upgrade this one to Yosemite (free upgrade) and then re-install applications.  I'm not sure if Yosemite provides a Migration Assistant for propagating a system forward and it would be swell as Apple does a good job with that and then I only need connect the computers via Internet cable and let the Assistant do the work.

Thank you, People of the Future and other generous souls who helped make this happen.  This will make make dramatic and positive change in practically everything I do.  It's been years since there has been a screen big enough to really see it and which didn't have all the windows stacked on top of each other.

I have been actively shaking.  I was stopped cold and that's the worst.  The relief is enormous.  I told Cat earlier about how they started enduro races as the karts would line up along one side of the straight.  The flagman held the flag out in front of him and this was to get the attention along the straight.  He would hold it there for fifteen seconds or an hour and then lower the flag to the ground to signal anyone not involved with starting the machines to get the hell out of the way.  He would hold the flag in that position for another fifteen seconds or an hour.  Then he would raise it over his head to tell everyone to start their engines because this race will roll when it drops ... an hour or so later.  That whole sequence is high tension ... but ... as soon as the flag drops, you're moving and picking up speed.  It's not about tension anymore, it's about going fast and life just got really good.

So, we're in motion.  Thank you.
