Sonya Jevette Returns to Cat's Art MusikCircus

Sonya Jevette has been greatly missed as she has been gone for some while and not due to any problem more than scheduling.  There was finally a way Cat could work it out so tonight Sonya sang again.

It's an extraordinary thing that Sonya can bring such delicacy and such power at the same time.  Plus she has a really cool growl.  All of these are about her technique and she is so good at it but, much more there, is the authenticity and sensitivity of what she sings.  She hardly ever does cover songs anymore and she's really good at them but her originals say so much more and feel so much more.

And most of all, she is fun.  You can feel while she sings that she loves what she does, this is not just something she does to amuse, please, or so.  She really loves it and she works so hard to do it.  I think the way it finally worked out, she wrote fifty original songs in a year.  Fifty!  She is one hard-working musician.

But she also likes to play around a little bit.

We won't let Sonya leave without doing the "Big Girls" song and she gives no hint she gets tired of doing it as it's always fun doing that Wobbly, Wobbly.  Look closely and you will see Cat blowing bubble gum.  That may seem silly but it's part of the song and it took four shots to get it.

From Cat and I, thanks for coming back, Sonya!  It was a delight.
