Mt. Washington Hillclimb (2017) | Travis Pastrana | Record Run #Speed

Excellent speed and extraordinary danger but zero melodrama and no smoke.

It seems he's kind of a glory hound but he's got the moves.

Note:  sometimes the motor sounds strange when he's under heavy acceleration and that probably means he was airborne.

Man, that video doesn't do it justice! The camera perspective makes it look almost flat in many spots. It's not, by any stretch of the imagination. I've run the Mt. Washington Road Race twice, and the entry form accurately describes it as "a scenic 8-miler with only one hill." It's relentless.

I notice that they seem to finish short of the summit, though. I wonder why that is. The only thing I can think of is that the final 1/4 mile involves the steepest grade on the road and a hairpin turn into the parking area.

Conveying the steepness would be a tough thing photographically but the bigger wow is you have done it twice. I guess you must be one of my sibs since I don't know anyone else crazy enough for this kind of be good or be dead driving.

I thought this might flush out my sibs since there's no gee whiz drifting or smoke and flames for the crowd so the vibe of some seriously tight driving is quite high at least for me. I get a little (i.e. a lot) tired of seeing tricks with cars but there's no trick to what happens if you go off the edge of that hillclimb track. That has got to hurt.

Ran that twice, huh? Well ain't you the crazy sumbitch. Congrats on those runs.
