Who Needs a First Straw

The article after this is just for killing time in-between searching for the audio interface that cannot not be here yet it isn't.  I've just finished searching this place for the fourth time and I cannot conclude it is not here as I do not recall pitching it and I know definitely it was here a couple of months ago.  There's zero chance anyone could have or even would have stolen it.

There's no chance of replacing it and the vote of confidence on GoFundMe is going nowhere.  Maybe it could succeed in months but who knows if this computer will physically last that long as it already goes down sometimes for no apparent reason.  That's not even the reason it's such a desperate problem.  I got new glasses last year and already there is trouble with the screen again.   A 15" screen is strictly for young eyes.

The interface is crucial regardless of the computer and that's a problem I should be able to solve but four times should have done it.  It can't not be here.

To be stopped because I can't find a broken-down piece of junk and I need it ... unless your dog just died, you have no idea.

The standard advice I always gave to juniors when they tried to debug their little programs was 'looking more than fifteen minutes in the same place only means you're looking in the wrong place.'  That won't mean anything unless you write code but some will know what I mean in how you obsess that this HAS to be where it fails.

Every sign from everywhere is saying to give it up.  I found a used bookstore not so terribly far from here and that's the cheapest solution of all.  What would be a better one but I can't quite bring myself to do yet is to put the Galaxy Guitar on eBay with a minimum set as a collector's item as no question it's one of a kind and not many have such a twisted history.  That would get me back out of the country and I can worry about what happens after that when I get there.  wtf, I'll die either way and that would be much cooler.

I wouldn't take a computer this time.  When Katy Perry has sixty million followers listening to her saying nothing more than she kissed a girl and the NSA is recording every vacuous phoneme, the Internet is lost.

Look around, wise up, disappear.

Epiphany:  TEFL is Teaching English as a Foreign Language.  There really is demand for this and it doesn't cost much for the training.  That really could be feasible and could be the ticket to Deutschland.  Well, the guitar would be the ticket but TEFL would be the survival on arrival.  Travel cost would be minimal as I wouldn't take any more kit than a toothbrush and a couple of passports.  My clothes will fit in a carry-on bag.
