Even though she's been replaced, the iPad2 is still an effective tool for HD video. It can't hope to match the quality of the Canon videocameras I had previously been using but it does a remarkably good job and the HD image is surprisingly crisp.
There are multiple project thoughts that start swirling as a result of this:
- Strap the iPad2 with some sort of stretchy bandage (maybe?) to my chest and then take a ride through some kind of Greek coolness. One obvious shoot is to do it for a ride through Pyrgos to show you the crazy traffic.
- There are so many static shoots: An obvious one is the little island where Robinson Crusoe lives. Then there's the Kastro Bar just around the corner. Many, many ... it's Greece!
- There's always the possibility of shooting in my place here but looking at myself isn't high on my list of video opportunities. It might be cool to show the crazy finger movements for the lead on the guitar, tho. For this latest song, they go all over the place.
The way the video production works is that you connect the iPad2 with the computer and then import the video into iPhoto. You can then export it and open it in Final Cut Pro. Another choice is to import the video directly from the iPad2 into iMovie. Once you've captured the video, it's an easy thing to sync music to it or just go with whatever audio comes in from the iPad2.
Oh yes, you bet new video is coming.
