Public Servants' Sacrifice | Nina Turner, Our Revolution

Our Revolution

Alan,

Sixteen years ago today our country was attacked by enemies of liberty and justice. Our Revolution recognizes the lives lost and immense pain felt by thousands of family members across the country over the loss of their loved ones. During this reflective moment we also recognize the sacrifices made by countless law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency service providers, and countless others who answered the call to help their neighbors on September 11, 2001. Many heroes gave their lives on Tuesday, September 11 to save and rescue others, and many are living today with injuries they suffered that day.

We also honor the lives of the men and women who serve in our military and vow that we will never again send them to die or face permanent injury in a senseless war.

Today, our country and our allied nations face the threat of terrorism at the hands of al-Qaeda, ISIS, Boko Haram, and other terrorist groups.

As we face this pivotal juncture in our nation's history, we must protect America, embrace our commitments to defend freedom and support human rights, and be relentless in combatting terrorists who will do us harm.

Now more than ever, we must engage in a foreign policy that goes beyond deciding how to react to conflict around the world. Working proactively to prevent international conflict and protect all human lives, regardless of race, religion, or nationality is one of the greatest needs of our time.

As we face an increasingly challenging geopolitical landscape, it is imperative that we live with greater love and respect for one another as human beings. I look forward to our continued work to securing a future with greater freedom and prosperity for all.

In solidarity,

Nina Turner
President
Our Revolution
