"Too Much or Not Enough 28.8.14" - Silas Live at Cat's Art MusikCircus

"Too Much or Not Enough 28.8.14" is a song I haven't brought out like this in a very long time.  The words are screwed but that's part of it.  When you hear the guitar making you wish to hell you were loved like that, imagine fucking that up.  OK, now you understand why the guitar screams like that.

Part of the singing is from no air and the other is from being strongly moved by the vibe of the song.  I was surprised by how much.  How much of each part made the voice get like that I don't know.  Even so, it works to the content of the song.  It's deliberate that the there's a sweet and relatively simple part that swaps off with a massively over-produced part as that says the same thing.  Everything is too much or not enough ... from music to eating M&Ms candy and damn sure to love.

The song title will take you directly to it or you can go to the Ride the Dragon podcast and admire the revised layout, hopefully sharing it with your social network comrades.

This is a teaser for the concert but it won't tell you what the others are like.  The song just before that was Yankee guitar playing with Greek bouzoukis (I used samples to build the Greek-ish tracks).  That sounds like a weird change-up but the continuity of the songs was the best I ever did.  It started out strong, hard, all that bad Silas stuff and kept that rolling until people had time to at least blow a joint. Then it gets weird with near-acoustic-but-not and then Greeklish music.  I wasn't trying to be eclectic but they belonged together and "Too Much or Not Enough 28.8.14" needed to follow them.  From there, crank it back up hard again and take that out to debut "Ohio 2014" ... pause for a bit ... and then do "Just a Mushball Thing"  because don't leave it so hard from more dead in Ohio.  That worked well and fade to black.

There were many listens for "It's For You" and that's lovely to see.  It's still on the podcast.  It rolls off the oldest when a new one goes up and I don't turn them over that fast.  These two are my most powerful Love Songs as in pull out every stop in arranging them, orchestrating them, etc, etc.  Both were and are for the same person and all the regulars know who she is.
