What About the Valerie Fraser Site

Other than throwing up a link so you can get to the Valerie Fraser, Art site, nothing has happened to it.  I'm just doing a Short Circuit on it (i.e. waiting for input).

What may be useful to know is the slideshow routine for "Abandoning Paradise" is the same one I used for Valerie's site.  It uses the same file layout, same software, etc.  The selection mechanism that permits searching the pics by country would not be useful to Valerie but it might be useful to be able to search by city for where they were painted.  No change to the software is needed as only the data field is changed.

And that, for who knows what reason, makes me think the story of Charlie Chaplin needs to be in "Abandoning Paradise" as Charlie was part of the loss.  The Frenchies catnapped him/her so really she wasn't abandoned but that story ran right up to not long before I left.

Yesterday I added the story on Mediterranean Shark Attacks - You Are Food to the book as that goes down as one of my best Internet pranks.  There are two articles on the subject and, between the two of them, they have had over twelve thousand hits.  Even Russians come here to learn about those sharks as they don't want to get eaten by them either.

The prank part is that hardly anyone ever gets eaten by sharks in the Med.  There's no lie as the article shows you how few have really been bitten but still people come by thousands to read them.  Fear is an extraordinary thing, particularly the irrational ones.

The lack of attacks in the Med is probably because there is very little surf so you don't have so many surfers wearing I-Am-a-Seal wet suits then going out swimming in deep water.  There are plenty of Great Whites in the Med, that part wasn't the prank.
