Which Social Network for You - Updated

The best answer is none of them but if you must pick that one then there are varying levels of efficacy, at least in terms of any practical purpose.  If you just like mindless chitchat, any of them will do.

Who Will Read What I Write

Twitter:  If you have a hashtag on which someone is searching, they will see you.

Facebook:  Your friends may read what you write ... or they may be too drunk already if it's after noon.

Google:  they're all sales hustlers.  No-one will read what you write.
(It looks like Google+ is dead as Google has pulled a great many people off their development team.)

The Others (Instagram, Tumbler, Bumbler, Fumbler):  it doesn't matter.  They're for the Kardashian crowd.  Nice ass, Kim.  Well, nice ass if you're two people, I mean.

For following me, SearchforIthaka on Twitter is the best way to do it.  Following me on Facebook is a waste of time for both of us and Google+ just spins around being superior.  You can also find Yevette on Twitter although I won't post the link as I'm not sure she is looking to connect with anyone.

The reason I suggest Twitter is that the Tweets come back to the blog just fine and you can see them in the sidebar.  Facebook loses at least fifty percent of them and they never go to Google+ because, well, their software is too simple to handle it (i.e. the Google engineers are being pricks because they could make it happen if they wanted).  Therefore, Twitter is the only place you know for sure you will see everything.  Plus you will be much better informed on breaking news, etc.  It's by far the most important network for staying current on things.  The rest are for telling her no, honey, your ass doesn't look fat.
