Bypassing Boring Pundits and Heading for Sci-Fi

What good are submarines.  You don't get to ride in them and mostly you don't even get to look at them.

So, we convert the plants in Groton to build marine tools that serve the country rather than wrecking other countries.  These people can build the coolest boats and ships on the planet so let's get some out of them that do us some good.

How about the boats that can take on an oil spill like they mean to do something about it rather than stirring it around until it sinks.

How about the boats that can take on that plastic island in the Pacific ... where it truly is turning into an island with the extraordinary mass of material.

Why not explore fully one of the most mysterious places on the Earth and about which we know so little.

The people in Groton can do this.  They've been building the best boats for generations.

Oh, by the way.  These aren't military contracts anymore.  The oil companies buy those oil spiller cleaner boats, etc.  They buy them because the people in Groton make the best ones.

They say such things are impossible but you only have to deal with two people:  one from China, one from Russia.  This is difficult?  I don't believe it.
