Melanie Barboni, The Hummingbird Whisperer

UCLA

Near the UCLA Court of Sciences, there is a wing-flapping, darting, squeaking colony of 200-plus birds that make their home around the campus office of the “hummingbird whisperer,” as Melanie Barboni is sometimes called. For the full story: UCLA.

It's only within the last week or two that I found the largest number of hummingbirds in one place that I had ever seen previously and that featured about thirty birds.  Melanie Barboni has about two hundred or so as part of her research project and it's clear from her words how much she loves them.

Her accent is a little difficult to understand at times but she isn't difficult to understand since you can see she so obviously adores these creatures.
