The Million Woman March

I have supported the women's movement forever and I'm old enough to know what the word means.

There's no way I can march anywhere but Bernie Sanders asked and I would do it if I could.  I do not see a specific purpose to the march beyond recognition the movement exists but that's a good enough reason.

Code Pink advised on where to get free pussy hats (?) and I replied to them that we hope they will remember the words of Martin Luther King.  We will support you all the way but if anyone starts any fires then we will walk away.

There must not be any violence since it only gives the state the excuse to pull out the guns and you will lose.

Ed:  where can I get a free pussy hat?

Somewhere in Washington but you will need to ask Code Pink if you're willing to step up to be part of it.

Be proud, ladies, and show us what you've got but the first one who says, oh right, that means 'show us your tits' will get an official Rockhouse fish.

Not to flog it again but it's worth reiterating I watch Trump closely but I have not seen any Presidential statement regarding abortion, equal rights, etc.

That fact notwithstanding, the Million Woman March is worthwhile even if only to show you can do it.

Ed:  everyone gets it about non-violence and ...

I will believe that when people start behaving better since I have no belief there's a chance of accomplishing anything without the equanimity to deal with it dispassionately.

It doesn't hurt the cause that you see the Socialist is not the violent, anarchist many project on Twitter where stereotypes abound and analysis is rare.  I am in my heart a Socialist and always have been.  Moreover, I have never owned a gun nor have I ever fired one except for when the Army put it in my hands.  I have never fired at anything living and I could not live with myself if I had; I can just barely do that anyway.

But all the time I know ... the hills are alive with the sound of music.  (Ithaka:  Lady Gaga - The Sound of Music clips, Full Tribute with Julie Andrews [2015 Oscars])
