Trump and Sanders Go to War on Big Pharma

Lotho reported yesterday about how CVS and others have undercut EpiPen's outrageous price by about one sixth for the injectable antidote to a heroin overdose.  There was a follow-up report on RT later in which it was written EpiPen looks to lose about eight hundred million as a result of being cut out like that.  Que sera sera.

We have reviewed previously and to your agreement the outrage of pricing by Big Pharma and EpiPen, Martin Shkreli, etc aren't individually significant except insofar as they're symptomatic of an industry that's far out of control.

Donald Trump has said specifically he will war with them because he wants a bidding process for their medicines.  That's effectively what happened with EpiPen and, whammo, they were gone in sixty seconds.  Trump really can't take credit for murdering EpiPen but he definitely set the stage for it.

Trump's position is in direct alignment with part of the Bernie Sanders position so Sanders is right there with Trump on this one.  Sure, let's war with those scurvy pirate bastards.

Social networks are crawling with CIA-supporting liberals (i.e. people who get their politics from Kraft in individually-wrapped slices of cheese) and all of them are screaming Trump is the Anti-Christ and we will need to get so, so petulant with him.  Kee-rist.

As agreed with Lotho from the top, I want to see what Trump will do rather than listening for some asshole pundit who will tell me what he will do.  As we saw from the election, pundits don't have the tiniest clue of what he will do and social networks couldn't have misread Election 2016 more if they had been notified in Braille.

Bernie Sanders is doing the same thing we're doing here at the Rockhouse.  Instead of sitting on the social networks hanging about with CIA-supporting (cough) liberals and caterwauling about victimization of Hillary Clinton, he's observing and reacting.

We observe Trump and this move is a good one.  Maybe he will do things I will really hate but he hasn't done that yet.

Ed:  what about "Mad Dog" Mattis?

He doesn't say anything different than that which Obama is already doing and yet Biden got a Presidential Medal of Freedom from him today so will Obama give one as well to Mattis?

Ed:  you support Mattis?

Hell no.  Just because a different person says the same stupid things, they don't magically acquire wisdom.

How about that Wall, huh?

Here at the Rockhouse, our opposition to a border wall would be increased if the current border did not leak Mexican heroin like a fucking colander.

Ed:  moving that quantity of product needs a truck and a border wall will make no difference to them.

The wall will stop the amateurs who maybe try to heft a kilo but we need a vastly-improved border service to really make any difference (i.e. one which can't be bribed).

Ed:  robos?

You bet.  Although I haven't heard of drug-sniffing robos yet, they're probably not far distant.

Ed:  you're talking about a Terminator wall!

You're reading the signal five by five, Captain America.

Ed:  what does that mean?

No idea.  I heard it on "Aliens" just before the hot pilot was wasted by a space alien.

If "Mad Dog" Mattis wants to war with something, war with fucking heroin.

That is the EpiPen for allergic reactions. Mykan is the company that tried to defend thier actions and price increases before the Senate. And then days later release a generic that isnot sold through a distributor. That allowed them to not pay that mark up which permits them to actually make more profit at a lower cost. So they pretend they were doing it to help the patient but as usual it was 100% greed driven. As you all know I am a profit driven individual but there is a fair percentage markup.
Almost all big pharma raise prices a minimum of 10% a year on all products or about 300% present inflation rates. There is no justification for such an increase. I guess I should raise my tenants rent just because I can or leave it where I calculated a fair profit was when I moved them in

I am not sure where this $800M loss. The CEO of Mylan recorded record profits and record compensation package from her EpiPen peicing structure. It will only increase with her elimination of her distribution center mark ups

I believe it was reported as lost revenue due to the releases of the less-expensive products. Various commitments dropped them.

Here's a link EpiPen maker set to lose $800M

Wow - that worked (larfs)

That Trump and Sanders wage the same war with them is a highly-good sign to me and one people have awaited a long, long time.

I caught up with you I missed it. I thought the loss related to thier generic version not in reaction to CVS.
I believe CVS us trying to do the same process to Naxalone if they can get thier hands on the drug itself

W Virginia should vote Manchin out of office. And surely investigate the collusion on the EpiPen4Schools program.
She said she would do what CVS just did but after the hearings nothing happened.
And the world wonders why a racist misogynist got elected to the White House. He isnt a politician and they think that is a difference maker

There's a bizarre patent process which is to some extent legitimate but is hugely-abused. It surprised me to hear of these competitors since I would have thought patents would have prevented that.

There are some heavy bumps down that road as how do you protect their research costs without almost guaranteeing astronomical prices.

I can't say I really know what he is so I observe. I'm looking to stick to whatever he does / says he will do.

I see Ryan waxing up his medical plan again but it's not clear if this is just more shadowboxing with Trump.
