Trump Scores His First Presidential Kill in a New Country

A special forces soldier got whacked in Yemen today and the announcement said he was fighting al Qaeda but one thing is sure ... and that's no denying American troops, at least that one, are in Yemen now.  (Washington Post:  U.S. service member killed in Yemen raid marks first combat death of Trump administration)

Bush got the game going with Iraq for no apparent reason beyond Israel would like it if he whacked Hussein.  Obama and Clinton added Syria and Libya to the active combat theater also because Israel likes it and they got Libya as a bonus.  Trump has now entered those hijinks with de facto confirmation US troops are in Yemen as well.

- Insert lengthy editorial regarding the one-sided slaughter in Yemen (i.e. genocide) inflicted by the Saudis and I just beam with pride to know America isn't just selling them weapons for it, as it has been all along, but is actively participating in the killing. -

In Yemen, America whacks them because the Saudis would like it and Israel hangs back because the Saudis will whack back if they start punching.

Which all translates to the cosmic void in foreign policy.

The only outstanding question now is which part of the Middle East will America fuck up next.

They're fighting al Qaeda, ISIL, IS-IS, Cheese Whiz ... meaningless letters fly about while weapons go in every possible direction but hardly ever wind up in the hands of good guys assuming any good guys are left over there.

In this aspect, Cadillac Man had it nailed with "War Dogs" since there's a moneycane (i.e. hurricane made of swirling money) and you only have to put your hand out to grab millions.

I hear y'all talking about being whatever in combination with being fiscal conservatives but this conservation ain't blowing my skirt up, mates.

Note:  brazenly stolen from the only good line Charlton Heston ever delivered in "True Lies."

What I'm seeing with the Rockhouse view is money being pumped into an industrial furnace and nothing comes back but smoke.

Ed:  and dead people.

Many dead people.
