Janeane Garofalo is hugely respected along with a good measure of simple lust at the Rockhouse and "The Matchmaker" isn't exactly top drawer Hollywood film making but Garofalo shines in it which is to say she can be so evil to people and make it look natural all the while looking highly beautiful with a light the entire screen smile.

The movie has a novel and highly charming message about marriage and the love story between Janeane Garofalo and David O'Hara is a delight as love stories always are but they're convincing about it. There's even Denis Leary being as evil as he can muster only he really is evil but he gets his comeuppance in the end.
There's a scene in which the fake family meets the Senator and that one is just plain awful. It made the point but it was like killing a flea with a dinosaur.
The movie is inconsistent but it's funny watching Garofalo stomping around being mean to people.
She turns up in some crap movies as she's also in "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion" and she's vicious in that one. Outstanding.
I don't have that movie on-hand but I do have "The Truth About Cats and Dogs" so it needs to spin up now.

Netanyahu is still being an imperialist whore.
Ukraine is still trying to mutilate eastern Ukraine separatists while it does almost nothing about a substantial NAZI presence in the existing government.
Trump is blowing a trumpet like he's Gabriel and the crowd gets all frothy but it's not really bringing down big change so much as White House rim shots which can disappear as fast as they arrived.
The Woman's Movement is so all over the place they may never get much of a focus on anything. They're still carrying a cross for Hillary Clinton and the CIA so nobody really cares where they go with that.
It's not KKK nightriders but rather punk imitators with a truck and a can of gasoline out there burning mosques and one was torched yesterday in Victoria, TX; it appears to be a total loss. There was another not long ago in Florida. The behavior of such people is nothing new and Trump just gives them an excuse.

The beauty part is when she shines in "The Matchmaker" since she plays the bitch throughout even though you know she really isn't. Then she finds love despite herself and la de da. I do submit she looks beautiful in those smiles when that comes.
To my taste, a woman with some years on her who looks bad ass and not plasticized is beautiful in a less music and moonbeams kind of way than a young woman.
I dont know if the bitch role is acting or reality.
And there are far better examples than her Tina Lena Sophia etc. you real women
I'm glad you know already it's not my purpose to post false examples of strong women and I've had a little crush on her for some while because she's so not Hollywood but you're right that she may be a bitch in real. I gather Iceman from "Top Gun" is such a screaming pain in the ass that at least one director said he would never work with him again. Maybe she is really a personal horror but I don't know that. I do know she is prominent in activism and that always gets respect, well, unless they're complete idiots.
