A Story of Two Artists #ModernArt

Two artists were launching on Ithaka yesterday and it does give me some pride to do that and ask nothing for it.  They may not have actually needed a thing but this is how Ithaka 'does it's bit' and every piece will get the same treatment that way.

Ed:  if it were a tail of two artists and the tails were prehensile then they might be used as brushes.

I wasn't going to go for the pun but I do kind of like that aspect.

Both artists got a great number of hits and hopefully some readers followed the links to learn more about them.  Maybe that inspires some interest in finding which one got the most hits but there's bad juju in that kind of thinking.  Every piece of art stands uniquely and it has never been the purpose of the Rockhouse to compare artists; I don't do it with musical acts and it won't happen with artists who work in a physical medium either.

There's an implicit competition between two artists if I present more than one in a day so I'm seeing now it may not be the healthiest approach I can bring to it.  More than one presentation makes more hits for Ithaka overall but that aspect is only an amusement for me whereas people following the links for the artists to learn more is the win even when it does not win me anything.  That's not a grouse but rather the design.

Ed:  it's more about Socialism?

Everything is about Socialism at the Rockhouse and we don't need the editorial since you know the position already.  Sum it up if you like with the Three Musketeers and one for all, all for one.

There's no guilt, reluctance, nor recrimination but there's the observation from yesterday and that shows me my best move is single file with no more than one presentation today.

Ed:  so where is it?

Well, I tell you ... I saw a piece yesterday and I asked the artist if I may present it but I there is not yet a response.   I see from yesterday that I must not extend more than one invitation since that leads to the potential problem of competition.  You know how it goes just about anywhere in America where any two things need to race.  In fact they don't and therefore the observation.

Ed:  you don't got nothin' do you?

Nope but it's not for failure to act.  The latest invitation may have been perceived as just some Dagwood trying to hit on her.  There was nothing at all in the wording to imply that but a girl can't be too careful online and sure I respect that.

Yevette came to tell me she liked the art critiques and so do I since I enjoy and feel the art plus it gives me one great Socialist buzz for trying to give the art a boost.  I see from the numbers many of you appreciate that as well so I'm in and I will do more.

Whereas other paintings are highly-colorful, the one I saw yesterday was not and that will, assuming I get permission, allow me to present a piece which achieves high effect without the artistic device of the color.  That kind of counter-intuitive thinking can be compelling so I would like to present it but I won't without permission.

Ed:  because you just gots to have some rules?

In this example, yes.

Ed:  is this in part to send radio signals to Mystery Lady because we have not heard from her recently?

Yep.  I would love to present her art as well but see above about permission.  She does not want it presented publicly so I honor that request.

Ed:  ain't you the damn saint!

Likely the regulars can advise you I'm not a saint but we gots to have some rules, see.
