Lyrics for "Nessun Dorma" Translated

Yet another deep confession is I have never attended an opera but still I hear some and "Nessun Dorma" is one of the most famous songs ever from one but I had no idea what it meant beyond, well, it sounds like something really good.  On hearing the magnificence of the rendition by Pavarotti, I will sit there awestruck but I had to find the rest of the story.

Hat tip to Paul Harvey.

Nessun Dorma means 'No-One Sleeps'

Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma!
Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma!
Even you, O Princess,
in your cold room
, watch the stars that tremble
d? Love and hope!

But my secret is hidden within me,
my name no one will know!
No, no, on your lips I will tell,
when the light!
And my kiss will break
the silence that makes you mine!

The Nobody will discover his name
And we must, alas! Die! Die!

Depart, oh night! Set, you stars!
Set, you stars! I'll win at dawn!
They will win! They will win!

Translation:
No man will sleep! No man will sleep!
No man will sleep! No man will sleep!
You too, or Princess,
in your virginal room,
watch the stars
trembling with love and hope!

But my secret lies hidden Within Me,
no one Shall discover my name!
Oh no, I will reveal it only on your lips
When daylight shines forth!
And my kiss Shall break
the silence That makes you mine!

Nobody will discover His Name
And we shall have to die, alas! Die!

Depart, or night! Set, you stars!
Set, you stars! At dawn I shall win!
I shall win! I shall win!

The translation is awful but it's enough to confirm I shall win!  I shall win!
